Logano wins Daytona 500. Danica finishes 21st.

As Danica said on the radio right before the green-white-checker finish: it was a race determined by position. With about 35 to go, it was 3-wide racing until the very end, and was gridlock for anybody in 6th position or more. Passing was impossible. Even as Jeff Gordon tried to make something happen on the last lap from around the 7th position, he just caused a wreck that took up most of the field at the end. It was a pretty clean Daytona 500 with no serious wrecks until the last lap, but it wouldn't be a Daytona 500 without one.

I give Danica and the #10 GoDaddy Team a lot of credit for starting at the back of the field, due to having to use their 3rd car for this race, and being relatively competitive. She seemed really fast when the race started, but overheating issues and fighting a "tight" car into turn 3 all day just took its toll.

I'm hoping Danica will truly learn how to "push" the car ahead of her in these restrictor plate races. Especially during restarts. And hopefully sooner than later, understand the concept of "side-drafting". It's one thing to comprehend finishing the race and bringing the car home in one piece. It's another to understand how a driver can truly push the limits of their car, and use that to their advantage.

Danica Finishes 10th and Will Race on Sunday!

Danica started waaaaay in the back of the field due to using a backup car for Duel 2. Everybody knew she had to race her way in to get the chance to race the Daytona 500 this Sunday. Apparently there was a sense of urgency since Tony Stewart was in the #10 GoDaddy Chevy Pit Box for this race, probably giving instructions to Danica on the radio.

Slowly, but surely, she worked her way up the field during the race and finished 10th to qualify for the race on Sunday. Even as she gets wrecked by Denny Hamlin (again...since he was the reason she's in the backup car due to wrecking her in practice) late in the race. She started 18th for the green-white-checker and huge thanks to her teammate, Kurt Busch, who pushed her all the way up to the 10th spot. Denny Hamlin should know when to push the car ahead of you. In the middle of turns 3 and 4 ain't the spot to do that.

Daytona Pole Knockout Qualifying = Terrible Execution by NASCAR

This was a dumb idea. If they wanted to do it correctly (i.e. Formula One), they should have accounted for out lap time. Even as teams were sitting on Pit Lane waiting for just having enough time to count 1-2 laps, having more time would have given the truly fast cars a chance to make it even more interesting.

Danica Finishes 10th in Sprint Unlimited

Whatever your opinion may be of Danica's skills, you have to admit she really knows how to dodge getting seriously wrecked! Danica, who started 15th, pretty much was in the middle of the pack the whole race. Because of that, she was busy duckin' and dodgin' wrecked cars the last half of the race. Sometimes it's better to just survive, than being too aggressive and putting other drivers into jeopardy for nothing but a trophy. Joey Logano needs to learn this.

GoDaddy Super Bowl Commercial Pulled After Backlash

I always thought GoDaddy's ad agency of record needs to get fired. They better have an ad for today's game so they don't break Danica's record streak of Super Bowl commercials.
